The award was presented at San Francisco Beautiful’s 47th Annual Beautification Awards gala on October 15, 2018.

Since 1947, the nonprofit San Francisco Beautiful has been the only organization to advocate for civic beauty, neighborhood character and accessible public art for all in San Francisco.

Among its major successes include saving San Francisco’s cable car system decades ago, launching the first citywide tree planting program and capping the number of billboards in the city.
